I read books with difficulty, but comics with ease and engagement.ĭespite Graphic Novels being frequently written off by teachers and students alike as ‘too easy’ or ‘not really reading’ Graphic Novels are a vital part of the path to fluent reading for many children. Though I forgot about this first instance, a few years later, when I read a comic-style book again, it occurred to me that there had to be a prevalent pattern. Many years later, though, I would pick up my first graphic novel and read the entire thing in one three hour sitting for me, that was unheard of. Over time this difficulty to read was one of the significant factors that left me disillusioned with reading. ![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately simotaneously, I struggled to read any of the novellas that I believed to be the correct difficulty for my age range. Growing up, I believed Graphic Novels to be a lesser form of literature something I was too good to read. ![]()
